It was a beautiful Thanksgiving Day for a run and food drive, and the La Cañada Flintridge and neighboring town residents attended the Community Center’s 23rd Thanksgiving Day Run in record numbers. Two hundred volunteers were on hand and ready to greet the 1,500 runners who had preregistered and help the others who registered that day. Emcee Leland Waters welcomed everyone, as did LCF Mayor Jonathan Curtis and Community Center Board President Ara Aslanian. Michael Freed led the group in singing the “Star Spangled Banner.” To everyone’s delight, the Sheriff’s helicopter circled over the crowd a couple of times. The participants enthusiastically supported the food drive.
