Man Beaten in LCF in Possible Road Rage Incident

Authorities are still searching for three suspects involved in a violent incident of possible road rage last week in La Cañada Flintridge, according to Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s detective Rodger Burt.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, two men and a woman allegedly followed a man from a Glendale gas station to LCF, where one of them beat him with a blunt object, possibly a baseball bat, as he sought help at Los Angeles County Fire Station 19 on Foothill Boulevard, officials said.
The victim was struck in the head and arm and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Before the victim was assaulted in LCF, he and the suspects had contact in Eagle Rock and again in Glendale, where surveillance footage at the Shell gas station on the corner of Colorado Boulevard and Verdugo Boulevard showed the victim and a suspect chasing each other around a car, Burt said. Burt added that the surveillance tape also led them to a witness, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver who had pulled in to get gas.
Detectives have run the suspect’s license plate but have been unable so far to find a match, Burt said. The attackers reportedly drove a silver or gray Lexus sedan.
It’s possible the violence stemmed from a traffic dispute, but Burt said he could not be certain.
Burt said the victim was still in the hospital Wednesday, and that he planned to speak to him after he was released.
Tips about the incident can be reported to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s station at (818) 248-3464.
