LCF Chamber of Commerce Kicks Off Internship 2017

The kick-off assembly for the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce Summer Internship Program for sophomores and juniors was held at La Cañada High School Auditorium recently.
Eddie Lund, one of the vice presidents of the Allen Lund Co., and Pat Anderson, CEO of the LCF Chamber of Commerce, presented information to the crowd of interested students. Connor Thomas, the “Top Intern” of 2016, recounted his experiences at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and encouraged students to apply for an intern position.
Participating organizations for the 2017 summer include: Allen Lund Company, Citizens Business Bank, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, city of La Cañada Flintridge, and YMCA of the Foothills. Students who are selected to be interns will work Monday through Thursday, six hours per day, from June 19-July 27.
Students work daily on projects specifically designed to make a positive impact on their selected company and in the larger community. Interns will earn $1,200 scholarships after completing their assignments and attending several city and chamber events. They also will prepare a public presentation highlighting their work history and project, with the best presenter receiving the title of “Top Intern” and an additional $800, awarded at the chamber’s annual Gala and Installation dinner.
The application is available to La Cañada High School juniors and sophomores on the Naviance website under “Scholarship List.” Applications also are available on the chamber website: lacanadaflintridge.com, or contact Pat Anderson at exec@lacanadaflintridge.com; (818) 790-4289.
