The La Cañada Council PTA recently held its annual Reflections Program reception and awards ceremony for students. With a theme of “What Is Your Story?” some of the entries in different categories included such titles as “The Bridge of Life,” “The Little Boy,” “Don’t Be Afraid,” “Forest of Vision,” “One Girl, Two Homelands” “America: Stitch by Stitch,” “Save the Best for Last” and others. Superintendent Wendy Sinnette and PTA Council President Melissa Mazin welcomed and congratulated everyone.
Principals and PTA presidents from all the schools were on hand to further congratulate each student, as event co-chair Billie Melillo announced each student. Students Charles Matarese and J.T. Salcido’s films advanced to the state level competition, as did special artist Peter Trans’ work and Maya Purdy’s music composition. Melissa Abercrombie, Teresa Chiu, Dorothy Chen, Jean Cunningham, Dena Snedden, Julie Womack and Andrea Price were the other co-chairs who were behind the scenes for this special event.
