The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild’s recent meeting found President Joan Cleven once again at the helm after she agreed to lead the group for a third year. Many of the officers also agreed to retain their positions on the board.

Ginney Pruitt, Marie Baker, Elinor Bunn and Joanne Ploszaj will serve as vice president, secretary, corresponding secretary and treasurer, respectively. Danielle Barrios, assistant director volunteer services and community outreach, will continue to provide support to LCFOG, along with senior director Mary Beth Perrine, long-time liaison to LCFOG. The entire Orthopaedic Institute for Children staff provides support to LCFOG and its events and functions.
The Book and Author Luncheon, the guild’s annual fundraiser, supports the generous care given to children by top ranked physicians and surgeons at the OIC. In 2016, LCFOG donated $14,000 raised at the luncheon, in great part due to the leadership of co-hosts Ginney Pruitt and Carolyn Geer.
OIC sees more than 60,000 patient visits for children annually at their urgent care center and outpatient medical center in downtown Los Angeles. Children requiring orthopaedic care are welcome without consideration of the parents’ financial status. Many are uninsured or underinsured. OIC believes in caring for all kids.
Membership in LCFOG is open to any woman interested in supporting an organization that makes a difference in the lives of children who need orthopaedic care. For more information, contact Marie Gilhooly at (818) 489-6008.
