La Cañada, Flintridge Prep Score League Victories

Matthew Sox and Tristan Kalnins combined for a three-hit shutout and led the La Cañada varsity baseball team to a 5-0 victory over host Monrovia on Tuesday.

Sox pitched six innings, walked four and struck out six, and Kalnins tossed an inning of relief and struck out one. Sox was also stellar in the batter’s box, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Graham Massimino led the Spartans’ offense with two hits and a run scored. Connor Schulz and Kyle Mysliviec each finished 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run, Jonathan Shaklan was 1-for-3 with one run scored, Connor Buchanan drove in a run, and Tai Walton and Tyler Fierro contributed one hit each.
La Cañada (13-5 overall record, 5-0 in league), ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division 5, will host South Pasadena in a Rio Hondo League game this Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. The team will also host its annual Strike Out Cancer fundraiser.

Flintridge Prep 15
Lynwood Firebaugh 5

Max Rosenfeld collected three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice to help the Flintridge Prep varsity baseball team rout host Lynwood Firebaugh, 15-5, in a Prep League game on Tuesday.
Jack Enzminger also had three hits, scored three runs and drove in one, and Nicholas Davis was 2-for-5 with a double, three runs and one RBI. Kendall Kikkawa also collected two hits, scored two runs and drove in one, Danny Chiarodit had two hits and two runs, Brian Pipes drove in two runs and Bradley Noble scored twice.
The Rebels (9-3-1 overall, 3-1) will travel to Palos Verdes to take on Chadwick in a league game on Tuesday, April 18, at 3:30 p.m.

Harvard-Westlake 6
St. Francis 0

The Golden Knights dropped their fifth straight Mission League game last week, falling to host Studio City Harvard-Westlake, 6-0.
St. Francis (3-13 overall, 3-6 in league) was limited to only three hits in the contest. Brandon Lewis collected two of those hits and Aaron Treolar contributed one hit.
The Golden Knights will compete in the St. Paul Tournament at Cerritos Valley Christian this Saturday.
