The La Cañada High School 7/8 band and orchestra, directed by James Myers, recently spent a day touring the three La Cañada Flintridge elementary schools, Palm Crest, La Cañada and Paradise Canyon. The purpose of the tour is to encourage 6th-grade students to enroll in 7th-grade band or orchestra. Students also learned about the different instruments and different styles of music. Students’ favorites were movie theme songs.
The musicians took a lunch break at Memorial Park where they had pizza. Rain stayed away until the end of the day when they were packing up the instruments.
