Flintridge Prep Athletes Capture Track Titles

The Flintridge Prep varsity boys’ and girls’ track and field teams didn’t take home any plaques after the Prep League Finals at Burbank Burroughs last Friday but the Rebels captured various individual championships and two MVP awards.
The Polytechnic boys’ and Mayfield Senior girls’ varsity teams’ depth propelled them to repeat as Prep League champions. The Panthers won eight events to tally 153 points, which was more than enough to defeat Vivian Webb of Claremont (91 points) and Flintridge Prep (74). The Panthers have taken home the league crown the past four years.
Mayfield Senior finished among the top three in 13 events for 155 points, defeating the Rebels (125 points) by 30.
All qualified competitors will travel to Carpinteria High for the Division 4 preliminaries on Saturday, May 13.
The Flintridge Prep boys and girls won 10 events, with Hannah Barakat and Warren Hosseinion winning MVP honors.
