La Cañada Flintridge residents are advised to keep an eye out for a man on a hoverboard.
Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station officials are looking for help identifying a man who was caught on video peering into a mailbox at 4:48 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the 1000 block of White Deer Drive.
The man, according to Lt. Mark Slater, did not appear to take anything from the mailbox. From the look of the video, Slater said, the man might have been spooked when he realized he was on camera: He quickly pulled his hood over his face and rolled away on the hoverboard.
“It’s very different,” Slater said. “Hopefully someone will recognize him and we’ll be able to get him identified. Right now, we haven’t confirmed that he stole any mail; he’s a person of interest.”
Slater said there have been no reports of stolen mail from the neighborhood White Deer Drive, though sometimes it takes time for people to realize mail did not arrive.
In the video, the man is wearing a hoodie and a beanie.
Slater asked anyone with information about the man on the hoverboard to call the station at (818) 248-3464.
