Former Psychologist, LCF Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse

A former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department psychologist and La Cañada Flintridge resident was sentenced on Tuesday to 98 years’ prison after being found guilty in August of sexually abusing two young family members, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Michael Dane Ward, 46, was convicted of four counts of committing lewd acts on a child, two counts of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14, three counts of oral copulation of a child under 10 and one count of sodomy of a child under 10. Both victims were under the age of 10 when Ward committed these crimes between October 2014 and March 2016.
The two children testified at trial against Ward.
Ward was arrested on May 5, 2016, after which the sheriff’s department fired him.
