The outgoing board of directors of the Foothill Chinese School generously gave back to the schools and community with a donation of $40,000 to the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation Endowment Fund. Hui Su, co-founder and board president of FCS, and three other outgoing board members, Jonathan Jiang, Wei Mi and Liping Fan, attended the LCFEF meeting to present the donation to Kevin Martin, LCFEF president, and Marilyn Yang, LCFEF executive director. The incoming FCS Board of Directors Linus Young and Benjamin Molina, along with FCS Principals Joe Rao and Mui Pang also attended the meeting.
“This donation is a token of our appreciation to the city of La Cañada Flintridge and its people, and to the La Cañada Unified School District for their support to the FCS in the past 12 years. It also shows the continued commitment of the FCS to the broad foothill community for the sustained benefits of our children and families,” Su said.
Foothill Chinese School has been a generous supporter of LCFEF and LCUSD for many years. Foothill Chinese School, a nonprofit organization, was founded in May 2005. Its primary purpose is to provide Chinese language instruction to youth and adults and to promote a better understanding of Chinese culture in the community.
