LCF Chamber of Commerce Internship Applications Open

Applications for the LCF Chamber of Commerce Summer Internship Program for sophomores and juniors are available now.
Probable businesses/organizations for this summer include the Allen Lund Company, Citizens Business Bank, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, the city of La Cañada Flintridge, the YMCA of the Foothills and Global Wealth Capital Management. Students who are selected will work Monday through Thursday, six hours per day, for six weeks during the summer.
Interns will work daily on projects specifically designed to make a positive impact on their selected company and in the larger community. They will earn $1,200 scholarships after completing their assignments and attending several city and Chamber events. They will also prepare a public presentation highlighting their work history and project, with the best presenter receiving the title of “Top Intern” and an additional $800, awarded at the Chamber’s annual Gala and Installation dinner.
At a kick-off assembly for the program during STEP in the LCHS Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 21, Eddie Lund, one of the vice presidents of the Allen Lund Company, and Pat Anderson, CEO of the LCF Chamber of Commerce, presented information to interested students. Kyle Lee, the top intern of 2017, recounted his experiences as an intern and answered questions.
The applications are available to La Cañada High School juniors and sophomores on the Naviance website under “Scholarship List” and also on the Chamber website, lacanadaflintridge.com. Contact Pat Anderson at exec@lacanadaflintridge.com or (818) 790-4289.
