La Canada-Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild members recently met to discuss two upcoming fundraisers: a night out for dinner at Mijares Restaurant on Tuesday, March 20, and the annual Book and Author Luncheon in October.
Mijares Mexican Restaurant, 145 Palmetto Drive in Pasadena, will donate a percentage of its total income on Tuesday, March 20, between 3-9 p.m. for dinner and drinks, dine-in or takeout. Newly installed president, Marie Baker, said the funds will be donated to the Orthopaedic Institute for Children in Los Angeles.
At the conclusion of the evening, the winner of the opportunity drawing will be announced. The winner need not be present to win.
Plans are also underway for the annual Book and Author fundraiser. The Orthopaedic Institute for Children’s mission is to provide outstanding care for children with musculoskeletal disorders and to advance care worldwide for all patients through medical education and scientific research.
No child in need of orthopaedic medical care, including surgery, has ever been turned away for lack of funds or for being underinsured.
