Surviving Middle School for Parents at LCPC

Paige Dunbar

The La Cañada Presbyterian Church Parent Education’s next night series will be Parent Express for Parents of Tweens — Surviving Middle School. The class will provide a monthlong opportunity for parents who cannot attend the daytime classes.
“As a mother of three teenagers, Paige Dunbar leads her classes with tried-and-true experiences,” said longtime Parent Education participant Jill Weinlein. “Her parenting techniques provide insight and tools for parents to use along their journey of nurturing their tweens and teens. Paige sprinkles personal and humorous moments into each class, validating that you are not alone in the struggles and joys of raising children.”
Parents will meet weekly and collaborate with other parents facing the same challenges in parenting their children through this crucial developmental stage. Tween classes feature large and small group discussion relating to pre-adolescent issues such as peer relationships, family communication, puberty, and school adjustments. Discussion topics will include: “Understanding the Social/Emotional Life,” “How to Effectively Maintain Boundaries” and “Managing Technology,” to name a few. Classes will run April 11, 18 and 25 and May 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is open online at lacanadapc.org/parented or call (818) 790-6758, ext. 205.
Scholarships and payment plans are available online. Affordable childcare is offered during all class times. La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd.
