It was a red, white and blue day for Paradise Canyon Elementary School students who held their first spirit rally. Students sported their Cougar wear, some keeping with the patriotic theme. Classes were welcomed by Principal Carrie Hetzel, especially the 1st-graders who were attending for the first time. The 5th-grade student council members assisted, and librarian Christina Tingloff announced the awards for summer readers. Jackson Berry received the grand prize, a Kindle. Students also welcomed the new counselor, Alex Woo.
