Membership Spots Open for Bond Funds Oversight Committee

La Cañada Unified School District is seeking applications for membership on the Measure LCF Citizens’ Oversight Committee to oversee the bond funds that were approved at the Nov. 7, 2017, election. The purpose of the committee is to ensure that the bond dollars are spent for their authorized purpose and to report annually to the governing board and the public regarding expenditures of such funds. It is required that the committee meet at least once per year. Currently meetings are held quarterly.
The committee will consist of seven community members. A member of the LCUSD Governing Board will serve as a liaison to the committee. Applications are being accepted for the following categories: one business organization member; one member active in a bona-fide taxpayers’ association; one member active in a senior citizens organization; two community members at large; one position for a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district; and one position shall be both a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization, such as the PTA or a school site council. The term of each committee member will be two years.
Applications are available at the district office at 4490 Cornishon Ave., on the website at lcusd.net under the Measure LCF button, or may be requested via email at kbergner@lcusd.net.
