Spartans Shut Out FSHA; Wolves Remain Unbeaten

La Cañada’s varsity girls’ soccer team recently shut out visiting Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, 2-0, in a nonleague matchup last Friday. No individual statistics were provided to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The victory moved the Spartans’ overall record to 5-1-1. La Cañada will be idle for the holiday break and return to action by visiting Mayfield Senior in Pasadena for a nonleague contest on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 3:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Tologs enter the holiday break with a 2-3-1 overall record. They will host Mission Hills Alemany on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 5 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
Flintridge Prep remained undefeated after clobbering California High of Whittier, 5-0, in a Best in the West tournament game last Saturday.
It was the Wolves’ highest-scoring outing of the season as junior Sage Shurman recorded a hat trick while junior teammates Presley Nevadomsky and Chayse Lim-Ying each added one goal. Junior goalie Ana Bozzi-Mackay earned the shutout.
To begin tournament play earlier that same day, the Wolves tied Downey High, 0-0.
The Wolves (6-0-2 overall) will compete in the Ontario Christian tournament, with their first match slated against Rowland High of Rowland Heights on Monday morning, Dec. 27, at 7:30 a.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP 1, FSHA 0
Earlier last week, the Wolves shut out FSHA in a nonleague contest on Dec. 13.
Bozzi-Mackay registered her third shutout in as many games, spending all 80 minutes tending the net, while Shurman scored the deciding goal in the second half.
