Sheriff’s Crime Report

A glass door of a home was shattered at 7:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in the 4200 block of Woodleigh Lane. The homeowner said he used his surveillance camera to see two men trying to enter through the back door, though they ran away when he told them to leave, speaking through the camera.


Hiking equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Angeles National Forest sometime between 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, while the owner was camping. The rear driver-side window was shattered and the truck lock cylinder was punched.


A bicycle attached to a vehicle rack was stolen in the Angeles National Forest sometime between 3 and 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, while the owner was camping.


Power tools and climbing equipment were stolen from a vehicle in the Angeles National Forest sometime between 2:54 and 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, while the owner was hiking. The rear passenger-side window and rear hatch window were shattered.


A portable mobile refrigerator was stolen from a vehicle in the Angeles National Forest sometime between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, while the owner was hiking. The rear passenger-side window and rear hatch window were shattered.


A pair of sunglasses, a stethoscope and a pen were among the items stolen from a vehicle in the Angeles National Forest sometime between noon Saturday, Feb. 19, and noon Sunday, Feb. 20. The passenger-side windows were shattered.


A vehicle in the Angeles National Forest was burglarized sometime between 3 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, while the owner was hiking. The rear driver-side window was shattered and the vehicle was ransacked, but it was unclear what was stolen.


A wallet was stolen from a purse at 10:38 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, while the owner was shopping at a grocery store in the 500 block of Foothill Boulevard. The wallet contained a driver’s license, cash and multiple credit cards, one of which was later used to make a fraudulent purchase. The owner said a woman distracted her by asking her about a certain package of meat, and surveillance footage shows a man taking something from her purse. The footage also shows the man and the woman leaving the store together.


A chain-link fence to a skate park in the 4400 block of Cornishon Avenue was damaged at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16. A witness said two adult men created the 1- to 2-foot gap in the fence in an attempt to enter the park.
