New Board Members Bring Fresh Energy to YMCA

First published in the Feb. 24 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The mission of the YMCA of the Foothills is to aid the community, who are at the heart of everything the Y does.
It is for this reason that the Y’s Board of Directors represents a group of ambassadors that strives to enrich the quality of the community’s spirituality as well as their mental, physical and social welling — the mission of the Y. These members are also residents of the community served by the YMCA of the Foothills — working and living to make their neighborhoods a happier, healthier place.
It is with great pride that the Y introduces the six newest, elected members of the YMCA of the Foothills Board of Directors: Eileen Bergmann, Katie Cassidy, Todd Samuelson, Thomas Atamian, Scott Klausner, and Maggie Jackson.
Eileen Bergmann, Katie Cassidy and Todd Samuelson have served on the board since 2021, each playing an instrumental role to last year’s strategic planning efforts.
Bergmann is currently part of the human resources team at Capitol Group, but not so long ago, she began her career working in human resources at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA. As a mother of two, Bergmann now sees firsthand the value of a Y membership from a parent’s perspective as her children are involved in various youth programs.
Cassidy is a strategy manager for PwC in Los Angeles and has previously served the Y as the PR and communications assistant helping develop annual campaign themes and crafting the narrative around how the Y impacts its community. Cassidy’s education and experience in PR and communications will only further strengthen the Y’s future narrative.
Samuelson has a long, historic relationship with the Y. Todd serves on the acquisitions team at Samuelson Partners while continuing the push the legacy of his grandparents and parents who were influential to the development of the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA.
Atamian, Klausner and Jackson are the 2022 elected board members — each talented, knowledgeable in their industries and charitable in their efforts to serve the greater good.
Atamian is an award-winning and experienced realtor, specializing in the representation of high net worth and celebrity clients, as well as the founding member of Thomas Atamian + Associates. His previous connection to the Y has been as a volunteer and donor; a passionate role Atamian plays throughout the community as he’s recently completed his 13th year as a volunteer assistant varsity basketball coach at La Cañada High School and raises money for various charity events related to cancer, chronic disease and more.
Klausner serves as an attorney at Cole Pedroza LLP in San Marino, representing clients from across diverse industries with a focus on civil rights, appeals and general employment litigation. Scott is a long time YMCA supporter, volunteer and annual campaign donor with one of his first roles working in both membership and youth programs at the Y while attending college.
Jackson is the founder and president of Rose Public Relations, an award-winning boutique public relations consultancy specializing in the hospitality industry. Jackson and her husband grew up playing organized sports through YMCA organizations in their home state of Texas, and today — as residents — their two children will benefit from everything the Y has to offer.
The Y could not be prouder to join forces with these newly elected members; the future of the YMCA of the Foothills looks brighter than ever when supported by a Board of Directors that shares its passion, mission and vision.
