The 35th Annual La Cañada Spring Home Tour is about a month away and co-chairs Christine Chant, Holly Breckheimer and Christina Conwell are working hard to bring back this cherished community event that also serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the La Cañada High School PTAs.
“Everyone we talk to is so ready to attend the home tour after two missed years,” said Chant, co-chairing the event for the second time, her first time suddenly turning virtual a month after COVID-19 shut everything down. “So many attendees have annual traditions of attending the tour and evening after party together, and it’s so fun to hear how excited they are to resume their traditions.”
The tour day includes an all-day marketplace open to anyone — no ticket required — and is located in a yard with close proximity to Foothill Boulevard. It will feature home decor, jewelry, clothing, original paintings, wine, succulents, locally made soap, candles and more.
“The marketplace will be a wonderful gathering spot for tour attendees to visit at any point in the day to shop for their home or self or upcoming Mother’s Day,” said Breckheimer.
This year’s evening After Party will conclude in a sixth home south of Foothill, highlighting the musical talents of the LCHS Jazz Band while attendees enjoy margaritas and guacamole from Los Gringos Locos and cocktails and deviled eggs from The Proper Bar & Restaurant.
Co-chair Conwell said, “We are so grateful to these two La Cañada favorites for partnering with us to donate the food and drink for this great evening that culminates the tour day. And, our entertainment will be provided by some of the very students this fundraiser supports.”
Tickets for the 35th annual La Cañada Spring Home Tour ($50) and After Party ($40) are available at presale savings and will be emailed the evening before the event. Day of purchases increase by $5 per ticket and will be sold online and at the marketplace, address to be posted on the website the morning of the event.
The four homes on the tour will be open from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and again from 4 – 6 p.m. marketplace hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and the after party is from 6 – 8 p.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit the LCHS 7/8 PTA and the LCHS 9-12 PTSA programs including technology, library, athletics, and general campus support.
