The La Cañada Unified School District Spelling Bee competition was recently held at the district office.
LCUSD Board Member Caroline Anderson served as spell master and Board Member Joe Radabaugh and La Cañada Elementary Principal Emily Blaney served as judges. Those who helped conduct the spelling bee included Paradise Canyon Elementary Principal Carrie Hetzel, Palm Crest Elementary Principal Cory Pak, La Cañada Preparatory administrator Scott Albright, Terry Villanueva and Justin Whalin.
PCY 5th-grader Max Tieu won first place and PCR 6th-grader Zieozi Olen won second place. The winning word was algorithm.
