Paradise Canyon Elementary School recently held a Blue Ribbon Flag ceremony to honor the hard work of students, teachers and administrators on campus.
“This honor is significant in a couple of ways,” said PCY Principal Carrie Hetzel. “First, the award acknowledges the hard work put in by PCY students, teachers, staff, and parents, especially during the pandemic when we all need to be creative and flexible in terms of learning and school.
“Secondly,” Hetzel continued, “the process was a great way to reflect and analyze our current practices and culture to make decisions about the future.”
Attendees at the ceremony included Superintendent Wendy Sinnette, Governing Board President Dan Jefferies, Teresa Lamb Simpson representing the office of Adam Schiff, PCY PTA President Angela Blair and PCY 6th-graders Leela DiTullio and Alec Lee. The ceremony concluded with adding and raising the Blue Ribbon flag to the school’s flagpole.
