The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated host Temple City, 11-7, in a Rio Hondo League match last Friday.
Junior Lance Morgan, the Spartans’ No. 1 singles player, swept his three sets by scores of 6-2, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Konan Sahara and senior Aditya Desai each took one set, 6-1.
In doubles, the No. 2 tandem of seniors Luke Manion and Luke Kim swept, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, while the No. 1 team of junior Aaron Magtoto and junior Dylan Lu won two of three sets, 6-0, 6-2. The No. 3 duo of senior Aidan Robinson and sophomore Spencer Moravec won one set, 6-2.
The Spartans (6-2 overall record, 3-1 in league) are scheduled to host league-leader San Marino in a crucial league matchup on Friday, April 1, at 3:30 p.m.
