The La Cañada High School varsity softball team defeated host Monrovia, 7-2, in a Rio Hondo League game on Tuesday.
Sophomore pitcher Elle Leckrone went the distance, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. She also finished 2-for-5 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. The multi-hit performance was her third in four April contests while extending her hitting streak to a season-best 11 games.
Sophomore Ashley Lovejoy paced the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, including two doubles and three RBIs, while senior Amy Lyman added a pair of doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Junior Kyra Davis collected two base hits and a pair of runs scored, freshman Bentley Lebrecque posted a base hit, an RBI and a run scored, freshman Abigail Milton produced a base hit, a stolen base and a run scored, and senior Nicole Wong and sophomore Mia Salardino each had a pair of base hits.
LCHS previously collected consecutive shutout wins in a doubleheader during the Village Christian Spring Fling tournament last Saturday. The Spartans crushed Glendale in the matinee matchup, 13-0, as Wong and Lebrecque combined to toss a four-inning no-hitter. Wong and Lebrecque each pitched two innings with two and four strikeouts, respectively. Meanwhile, Leckrone continued her terrific season at the plate by finishing 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. She owns a team-best .611 batting average, 140 points higher than Wong’s second-best .471 average, in addition to her team-high six home runs, eight doubles, 29 RBIs and 33 hits. Senior Kylie Sever went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Milton finished 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of runs scored, and Wong and junior Riley Breckheimer each collected a pair of hits, including a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Davis notched a pair of base hits, two runs scored and an RBI, Lyman registered a pair of base hits and a run scored, and Salardino produced a base hit, an RBI and a run scored. Lovejoy tallied two RBIs and a run scored, while Lebrecque had a base hit.
LCHS shut out Arleta High, 10-0, in the first game of a doubleheader last Saturday as Lyman paced the offense by collecting a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Meanwhile, Leckrone allowed two hits and one walk over four innings with six strikeouts. She and teammate Milton each added a base hit, an RBI and a pair of runs scored at the plate. Wong went 2-for-4 with a double, a pair of RBIs and a run scored, Salardino produced two base hits and a run scored, and Davis tallied a double, a run scored and an RBI. Junior Sydney Zoltzman registered a base hit, an RBI and a run scored, Lebrecque recorded two hits and an RBI, and Lovejoy had a base hit and an RBI.
The Spartans (13-5 overall record, 5-3 in league) will visit South Pasadena for a Rio Hondo League game on Friday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m. LCHS is tied with San Marino (5-3 in league) for second in the league standings, as the rubber match between the two schools is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, at 3:30 p.m.

The Wolves lost a Prep League game at Mayfield Senior of Pasadena, 9-6, last Tuesday.
Senior Luna Tobar went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored, while junior Madison Lin tallied two RBIs and a run scored.
Flintridge Prep (2-9-1 overall, 1-6 in league) is scheduled to visit Pasadena Poly in a league game on Friday, April 15, at 3:45 p.m.

The Tologs have been idle since routing Notre Dame Academy of Los Angeles, 21-0, to remain undefeated in Sunshine League play. FSHA (11-7 overall, 4-0 in league) is scheduled to square off at Alverno Heights Academy of Sierra Madre on Thursday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m.
