During the year, all the local elementary school 6th-graders have a chance to participate in the school play.
This annual tradition and rite of passage was thoroughly enjoyed by the students as they brought their production of “Matilda” to life.
The LCE 6th-graders were the last to be on stage and were the only school that performed in the Lanterman Auditorium.
All the LCE students K-5 were able to walk to Lanterman to see the performance during the day. There were four evening performances with four casts on two separate nights. The 6th-grade teachers were Lisa Fungo, Stephanie Norton, Andrea Redecker and Vanessa Schwartz.
Maria Vasiliou directed and choreographed the performances with Daniella Castoria also choreographing. The music was directed by Andrew Leonard and Coleen Thatcher was the accompanist.
