Lutheran Church to Host Blood Drive

First published in the July 28 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

Residents of the Foothill communities will have a convenient way to help fill the urgent need for blood donations. The Lutheran Church in the Foothills will hold a blood drive in its Fellowship Hall on Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org.
This coming Sunday, LCIF welcomes guest pastor Keegan Chin-Cheleden who will preach from Colossians 3:1-11. The Sunday service begins at 10 a.m. in person and online on the church’s YouTube channel. Children’s Church is offered every Sunday. Families meet in the sanctuary first, then following the children’s sermon, children head to the Youth Room for crafts and games.
LCIF would like to remind the community of activities that are open to all this summer: Bible study groups, knitting, quilting, opportunities to learn livestreaming media production and more. A movie night for families is planned for Sept. 30. All are welcome.
Pastor Chuck Bunnell would also like to remind the community that he is available to consult with anyone interested in baptism, confirmation or membership. He is also available for visitation. Anyone with a loved one wanting a pastoral visit at their home or in the hospital should contact the church.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details, including small group gatherings and opportunities to serve. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
