Hearts for Siblings is a group created for teens who have siblings with special needs.
Started by two highschoolers, Rachel and Chloe, who both have siblings with special needs, they brought Hearts for Siblings to life in partnership with the YMCA — to create a safe and fun space for their peers with similar backgrounds. The pair have lots of love for their siblings and for the La Cañada-La Crescenta community.
The Hearts for Sibling’s launch event is Saturday, Aug. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA multipurpose room, located at 1930 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge, CA. 91011.
Attendees can stop by to hear about the group’s mission, hang out in a comfortable environment and meet peers with similar experiences. Light snacks, refreshments and games will be provided.
