A home in the 700 block of Forest Green Drive was burglarized sometime between 11 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. A double-paned glass door was smashed and several items, including jewelry, a laptop, and several designer purses, were stolen.
The victim left her residence in the morning on Wednesday and at about 2:25 p.m., and she received a phone call from her security company, which advised her the burglary alarm had been activated at her home. The security company contacted the sheriff’s department and deputies were dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate any suspects inside the residence. Several rooms were reportedly ransacked and a safe encased in concrete was chipped and damaged by an unknown tool.

Deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a call of reported identity theft in the 400 block of Starlight Crest Drive at around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10. The victim told deputies she received a call from her bank advising her that someone had used her full Social Security number to apply for a Visa card under her name.
She said the incident may be related to a previous identity-theft attempt in December 2021. The victim said she is the only person with access to her Social Security number. No money had been taken at the time of the report.

A resident living in the 5000 block of Rock Castle Drive was the victim of a burglary sometime between 7:40 and 10:36 a.m., while he was at work on Friday, Aug. 12.
At 10:36 a.m., the victim received a call from his mother who told him the home had been burglarized by unknown suspects. The mother left the location and advised the victim to call the police. The victim arrived at the home before deputies, and saw that living room windows were smashed and the house had been ransacked.
Witnesses observed a person sitting in the driver’s seat of a white vehicle and two men in orange or yellow construction vests walking out of the home with laundry bags in their hands.
The victim had CCTV cameras installed, but will not be able to review them until a later date, as his modem was stolen.

A residential burglary was attempted in the 4000 block of Commonwealth Avenue on Friday, Aug. 12, at around 2:40 p.m., but no items were taken.
The victim told deputies that he returned to his residence and saw glass leading into his home. He reviewed video camera footage and saw three men with face masks arrive at the scene in a white Mercedes, jump the gate into his property and shatter the window.
Afterward, camera footage showed that the unknown suspects shattered the window and the burglary alarm sounded. The suspects ran from the location and into the Mercedes. They traveled northbound on Commonwealth Avenue toward Foothill Boulevard, and out of view of the camera.

Residents of an apartment building in the 200 block of Foothill Boulevard reported the burglary of a community mailbox that occurred between 4 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14.
One resident left her apartment at 3:30 a.m. and returned at 4 a.m. At about 4:30 a.m. she reported hearing a door open to the ground-level floor near the community mailbox by her apartment. She opened her apartment door and did not see anyone, though she noticed the smell of cigarette smoke.
One resident reported that her mail was missing at 12:30 p.m. and said that the mailbox had been clearly tampered with. She was easily able to open the locked mailbox without using a key.
Deputies collected a cigarette butt from the scene and took fingerprints from the mailbox.
