Principal’s Message: La Cañada High school

LCHS Principal

It is with great joy that I welcome all of our students back to La Cañada High School!
To our returning and new students, this year will provide opportunities for learning in and beyond the classroom. The LCHS staff is excited to be a part of this experience, as we offer the highest quality instruction through a community built on student empathy and integrity.
La Cañada High School will follow our traditional bell schedule of three regular schedule days and two block days. For this year, the 9-12 student body will enjoy lunch after period 4 on regular schedule days.
We will pursue long-held goals for our students: student safety, rigorous and engaging instruction and learning, and wellness and belongingness. This means offering services that will support them academically and emotionally. These emphases are part of our intentional efforts to promote thriving behaviors in our students, so that they work toward building a strong foundation of academic effectiveness, in addition to strong, interpersonal and social-emotional skills. We want our students’ high school successes to be that which propels them toward success across life.
I hope our students are excited about getting involved in our student clubs, Spartan Athletics, the Visual and Performing Arts programs, Robotics and Engineering, and Speech and Debate program, to name only a few. We also want our students to come to campus to enjoy the community and friendship associated with all the activities offered by our Associated Student Body, who are organizing frequent activities and events that are fun and memory-making.
I am excited about the upcoming school year and welcome all of you to the 2022-23 school year.
Go, Spartans!
