LCHS, FSHA, Flintridge Prep Stay Dominant

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ volleyball team picked up its third straight victory by sweeping host Marlborough High in Hancock Park, 25-16, 25-8, 26-24, in a nonleague match last Thursday.
Senior Rachael Salit collected 11 kills, two aces, one block and five digs while senior Nikki Hughes produced 11 kills, one ace, one block and seven digs. Junior Haley Clark registered 10 kills, two blocks, five digs and one assist, junior Tatum Purdy posted 31 assists, one kill, one ace and four digs, and junior Chloe Nussbaum finished with a team-high four aces, 15 digs and two assists. Freshman Vani Tatoulian tallied three kills and two blocks, sophomore Katie McGuinness recorded two kills, and sophomore Danica Eggleston had one ace.
The Spartans (5-2 overall) will return to action by hosting Flintridge Sacred Heart in a nonleague match on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.

The Tologs bounced back after falling to powerhouse South Pasadena earlier in the week with a nonleague victory at La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena, 25-12, 25-8, 25-23, last Thursday.
Junior Luisa Madrigal produced a team-high 10 kills, four digs and one block, senior Emily Smith collected 15 assists and six digs, and sophomore Ally Du finished with seven aces, eight assists and three digs. The seven aces marked a single-match career-high for Ally Du, who previously never had more than three in one match.
Senior Keira Limon tallied five kills, two aces, one block and three digs, sophomore Piper Scherbert registered five kills and two blocks, senior Nikki Garriola recorded four kills, one ace, 10 digs and one block, and junior Veronica Udell posted four kills, one block and one dig. Senior Charlotte Taylor notched three aces and one dig, junior Lindsey Du logged six digs and two assists, and seniors Erin Carney and Ellamae Fortin each had one dig.
FSHA (2-1 overall) will travel to New York to play a trio of matches, opening with a contest at Fontbonne Hall Academy in Brooklyn on Thursday, Sept. 1.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

<sub>Flintridge Preps Marissa Halley collected 14 digs to help the Wolves sweep San Gabriel<sub>

The Wolves recently picked up a nonleague sweep at San Gabriel, 25-18, 25-18, 25-15, last Friday. Abbie Callaway led Flintridge Prep with 14 kills and four aces, Jessica Powell collected seven kills, and Marissa Halley had 14 digs.
The Wolves were previously swept in their Prep League opener by visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena, 25-7, 25-18, 25-18, last Thursday. Callaway produced 10 kills, Powell tallied a pair of blocks, and Lucy Liu registered two aces.
Flintridge Prep (6-2 overall) will continue league play by hosting Chadwick School of the Palos Verdes Peninsula on Thursday, Sept. 1.
