First published in the Sept. 8 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

A pickup truck was burglarized on the 4700 block of Angeles Crest Highway at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 1. A man was finishing his gardening job at the location, and loaded his equipment, including a lawn mower, into the truck before stepping away for about one minute. Upon his return, he found that the lawn mower was missing.
The victim contacted deputies with the Crescenta Valley Sherrif’s Station who investigated security footage of the scene which showed a dark Ford pickup truck with a camper shell drive past the location several times before stopping alongside the victim’s vehicle. At that time, an unknown suspect loaded the lawn mower into the Ford truck and fled the scene.

Deputies were contacted regarding a burglary reported at the 3700 block of Berwick Drive. At about 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, a married couple left their home, returning at 8:30 p.m. to find that a sliding glass door leading into their dining room had been shattered. The victims entered their home and saw that many rooms had been ransacked.
Victims contacted the Sherrif’s department, and deputies were sent to investigate the scene on Sept 2. Deputies noted losses including gold and diamond jewelry, electronics, silverware and damage to the home.

Crescenta Valley deputies responded to a call regarding a Sept. 1 residential burglary on the 3900 block of Durham Place. The victim received a call from his security company who made him aware of a burglary alarm activation at his residence. Metro patrol personnel responded to the location at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 1. No suspects were identified at that time.
The next day, deputies investigated and found that the suspects gained access to the home by breaking a sliding glass door. The home had been ransacked, but authorities were unable to determine what was stolen, aside from miscellaneous jewelry, as the victim was away from his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
