Paradise Canyon Elementary recently held its STEAM Night, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
The event, chaired by volunteer PTA parent Sharon Park Lue, allowed students to participate in various projects. Attendees made ice cream, created an exploding bag, put a stick through an inflated balloon without breaking it and chose what they wanted to build with “WeDo” Lego kits.
Helpers for all these activities included high school students, members from the Science National Honors Society, La Cañada Engineering Club and Niche Club. All the club members have the passion to encourage younger students to have an increased interest in these areas.
The program will be held again Nov. 10, Feb. 9 and April 13. All students from the elementary schools are invited.
