High school juniors who live within the 91011 ZIP code and have an interest in serving on the 2023 Miss La Cañada Flintridge Royal Court are encouraged to apply by the Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Pat Anderson and Royal Court Advisor Katherine Markgraf.
“Next year we will celebrate 50 years of this wonderful program. We are reaching out to all past queens and princesses to be part of the festivities and ride in the Memorial Day Parade,” Markgraf said.
Applications for the scholarship are available at lacanadaflintridge.com, or by sending an email to exec@lacanadaflintridge.com.
The application deadline is Thursday, Oct. 27, by 4 p.m. to the Chamber Office, located inside City Hall on One Civic Center Drive.
Public speaking ability, poise, academic achievement, youth leadership, community and high school involvement are all qualities that will be taken into consideration by the judges, Anderson said.
Interviews will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, and the second interview will be on Monday, Nov. 21. Candidates must attend both interviews.
The location for the interviews will be at City Hall’s Council Chambers. Updates can be found on the chamber’s website.
Finalists will be notified within a few days following the final interview.
This year’s Royal Court is Miss LCF 2022 Erin Carney and Princesses Amelie Besch, Lena Bolotin, Siran Khachatourian and Uma Wittenberg.
Miss LCF will receive a minimum scholarship of $500 and her royal court will each receive a minimum scholarship of $250, along with gifts of clothing and jewelry from area merchants.
