The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ water polo team lost a Rio Hondo League game at San Marino, 12-8, last Thursday.
Ian Wipfli collected five goals, Alexander Abramian scored a pair of goals and Tait Landswick added one goal for the Spartans.
LCHS (4-13 overall, 2-2 in league) will visit Monrovia for a league game on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 3:30 p.m.
FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves won a Prep League game against visiting La Salle College Preparatory, 18-8, last Friday.
Senior John Bennett had 13 saves, sophomore Charlie Simonian collected six goals, and senior Noah Corral registered four goals. Senior Henry Brookbanks produced three goals, while senior Ty Young finished with two goals. Senior Aidan Grimm, sophomore Ridley Tolleson and sophomore Elliott Oakes each scored once, while Aram Kedeshian recorded four saves.
Flintridge Prep previously edged visiting Polytechnic in double overtime, 14-12, in a league game. Bennett amassed 19 saves, while Corral racked up seven goals. Brookbanks tallied three goals, while senior Michael Gamboa, Tolleson, Simonian and Oaks each had one goal.
The Wolves (15-6 overall, 3-2 in league) will visit Palos Verdes Chadwick for a league game on Friday, Oct. 21, at 3:30 p.m.
ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights routed host Upland, 14-4, in a nonleague matchup on Saturday, as senior Jason Alietti amassed a game-high nine goals. Senior Noel Gutierrez and sophomore Nick Karamarian each scored a pair of goals, while senior Jozef Gutierrez posted one goal.
