’Tis the season for pumpkins and that means pumpkin math and calculations for the 4th-graders at Palm Crest Elementary School.
Students brought a pumpkin to school and weighed and measured it. Each class added the various weights to arrive at a total pound amount. Next, with parent volunteers on hand, they cut their pumpkin open and took out all the seeds, and put them in groups of 20.
The groups calculated the total of their pumpkin’s seeds, which were added together to determine a final amount for their class.
