Lutheran Church Launches Food Drive to Feed Hungry

First published in the Nov. 10 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

Check your pantry. Lutheran Church in the Foothills is collecting nonperishable food items to help stock the shelves of our local food pantries which serve people in need.
According to MEND (Meet Every Need with Dignity) in Pacoima, “The lines to receive food continue to grow each week as hundreds of hungry individuals and families struggle to keep food on the table.”
LCIF is currently collecting cereal, pasta and canned meat, fruit and vegetables. Items can be dropped off at the church office and will be delivered to local pantries.
This Sunday, Pastor Chuck Bunnell invites the community to attend worship service at 10 a.m. For those unable to attend, a livestream is available on the church’s YouTube channel. Children’s Church is offered every Sunday for young children, and confirmation class is available after worship service, beginning at 11:15 a.m. for students in grades 6-12.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details, including small group gatherings and opportunities to serve. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
