La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education Program, now in its 44th year, hosted its Annual Team Retreat at the home of Daniela Kim in La Cañada Flintridge.
The retreat, led by Director Anne Bierling, brought together staff, the volunteer board and the ministry support team to plan for the year ahead, using Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who use and persecute you” as their guiding theme. The 2022-23 LCPC Parent Ed Team includes 20 staff members, 15 volunteer board members and six volunteers who serve on the ministry support team.
Staff members include Anne Bierling (director), Amanda Baughman, Nanette Brown, Teresa Chiu, Paula Giboney, Jennifer Gordon, Heather Ehrhardt, Daniela Kim, Jenn Kliewer, Cathy Lukesh, Ellen Mackle, Sarah Montes, Vicki Rekedal, Katy Riddell, Jan Roberts, Sandy Lee Schaupp, Cheryl Tichon, Tracy Tobias, Jana Van Dyck and Sloan Walsh.
Volunteer board members who fundraise and host special events for LCPC Parent Ed are Katrina Harbers (board chair), Elizabeth Angiuli, Ashley Barrett, Erin Brown, Stephanie Ferguson, Lauren Gallidoro, Anne Hewett, Natalie Hubbard, Carrie Kingston, Charlotte Miller, Meredith Min, Sarah New, Amber Gerhardt-Serrano, Monica Skeehan and Natasha Wood.
Ministry support team members, who are all former board members and serve as an advisory council, include Lynne Graves (chair), Debbie Barsom, Melanie Frey, Katrina Harbers, Kathy Kovalcik and Monica Skeehan.

LCPC Parent Ed offers 18 daytime classes that meet weekly September through May and attract participants from more than 20 different cities. LCPC Parent Ed also has a new online class with parents participating from all over the country. Parent Express evening classes are also available.
