A burglary occurred at about 1:30 a.m. at a business in the 1500 block of Foothill Boulevard on Jan. 8. The business owner, who lives nearby, heard what sounded like an alarm from his business while in his home. He left his residence to investigate, arriving at the business to find the glass door shattered. Law enforcement arrived and reviewed security footage which showed a man breaking the glass and dropping a black semi-automatic handgun. The man allegedly searched the business but stole nothing. He then exited and drove away.

Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s deputies responded to a grand theft call in the 700 block of Craig Avenue at 12:44 p.m. on Jan. 7. The owner of a Toyota Prius attempted to start his vehicle, noticing a loud rumbling sound. A catalytic converter had been forcibly removed from the vehicle.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen in the 4700 block of Oakgrove Avenue. The victim left her vehicle on Jan. 5, returning at about 2:47 p.m. on Jan. 7. Upon starting her vehicle, she noticed a loud noise. Upon further investigation, her catalytic converter was missing from the vehicle.
