Congregational Church to Offer Black History Month Lectures

First published in the Jan. 26 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

La Cañada Congregational Church will host Black History Month Lectures in February to continue reflection on anti-racist practices that began with community discussions in 2022.
Theology professor Drew Hart, author of “Who Will Be a Witness and Trouble I’ve Seen,” will speak on Feb. 4 about how the church is influenced by white supremacy and religious nationalism, as well as how communities can practice showing solidarity with the vulnerable.
Lecture and ticket information can be found at lacanadachurch.org/bhm. Tickets are free with the purchase of the featured speakers’ books from Flintridge Bookstore. Teachers and students wishing to attend can email Pastor Kyle Sears at kylesears@lacanadachurch.org.
