Spartans Tie Monrovia, South Pasadena in League Games

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ soccer team concluded a Rio Hondo League game at Monrovia in a scoreless draw last Friday,
The Spartans previously tied host South Pasadena in a league matchup, 1-1, as freshman Rafayel Sahakyan scored late in the game. LCHS maintained possession for 65% of the match while both teams produced four shots on goals.
Second-place La Cañada (7-7-4 overall, 4-0-4 in league) will host fourth-place Temple City in its regular season finale today at 3:30 p.m. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m.

The Wolves lost a Prep League game at Palos Verdes Chadwick, 3-1, last Friday. Flintridge Prep previously won a pair of league matchups against Pasadena Polytechnic, 3-2, and Providence High in Burbank, 5-0. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The second-place Wolves (6-6-2 overall, 3-2-2 in league) hosted first-place Pasadena Polytechnic for their regular-season finale yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m.

The Golden Knights blanked visiting Chaminade High of West Hills, 4-0, in a Mission League game last Friday. SFHS was previously edged at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth in a league matchup, 3-2. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Fourth-place St. Francis (7-11-1 overall, 5-7 in league) hosted fifth-place Notre Dame High of Sherman Oaks in its regular-season finale yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m.
