L.A. Youth Orchestra ‘To Stir the World’ With Spring Concerts

The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra’s Spring 2023 Concerts, “To Stir the World,” will be held on Sunday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Barnum Hall in Santa Monica and Monday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena.
The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Russell Steinberg, will perform Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7. The Ruth Borun Concert Orchestra, conducted by Jorge Padron, will perform Saint-Saens’ “Intro and Royal March of the Lions,” Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise,” Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” and De Falla’s “Ritual Fire Dance.”
Founded in 1999, the L.A. Youth Orchestra serves more than 140 student musicians each year, ranging in age from 8-18 and hailing from 70 different schools throughout the greater Los Angeles area. LAYO rehearses on Sunday afternoons at the Encino Community Center and has performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, UCLA Schoenberg Hall, Zipper Hall at the Colburn School, Carnegie Hall, as well as touring internationally to Vienna, Prague and Italy.
