The annual French Toast Breakfast, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada/La Crescenta-AM, was held in Memorial Park on May 27 as the kickoff event to Fiesta Days weekend.
For three decades now, Kiwanians have worked the grills to serve up fluffy French toast with butter, syrup, strawberries, sausage, coffee and orange juice.
“A lot of work goes into this event and it is our one fundraiser for the year,” a Kiwanis spokesperson said. “We are able to get a lot of food donations from local businesses, which is a wonderful help. It truly was a fun morning.”
After enjoying their meal, many attendees visited the neighboring classic car show to admire the vintage automobiles.
The French Toast Breakfast was started by a gentleman named Paulo, who owned a catering business on Foothill Boulevard, with help from the Kiwanis Club and the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce.
