LCPC Presents Christmas-Themed Jazz Vespers

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will present a Christmas-themed Jazz Vespers on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m., both in-person and livestreamed.
This session features the Jack Lantz Sextet (Lantz on piano, Lance Rickman on saxophone, Jeff Kaye on trumpet, Ido Meshulam on trombone, Nick Morabito on bass and Dave Marks on drums) improvising on a wide range of familiar Christmas carols.
Everyone will recognize every song and enjoy following how the jazz musicians embroider the musical tapestry. In addition, the service will include liturgy reflecting the themes of Christmas, and Lantz will tell the stories behind some of the carols.
No charge (free-will offering accepted) and no reservations are required for this hourlong event, held in the church’s sanctuary. It will be a time for extraordinary celebration of joy, energy, meditation and liberation, as we take an hour out of our busy run-up to Christmas.
If you cannot attend in-person, follow this link to watch: live.lacanadapc.org. Jazz Vespers will also be livestreamed via the church’s pages on YouTube and Facebook.
La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd. Worship services are conducted in-person and are livestreamed on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. (traditional style) and 10:30 a.m. (contemporary style).
