Take a Hike With Mayor Eich

A popular La Cañada Flintridge tradition is making a comeback this year with the city announcing the return of the annual Mayor’s Hike.
The event billed as the “return of a great fall classic” will be on Saturday, Nov. 19, and allows community members to join LCF Mayor Keith Eich in celebrating the local trails.
“The annual Mayor’s Hike is a great way to great way to participate in and celebrate our amazing trails and outdoor space,” Eich told the Outlook Valley Sun. “I’m excited to announce its return and hope everyone can join us for the event.”
Participants will hike for approximately 1 mile along the Conservancy Trail and return along Forest Hill Fire Road. There is limited permitted parking near Trail Head on Forest Hill Drive, and so carpooling to the event is encouraged.
Water will be provided to those who participate, and the city recommends that hikers bring sunblock, wear comfortable clothing and proper shoes.
The event is co-sponsored by the LCF Trails Council, a nonprofit volunteer organization that works closely with the city and Los Angeles County to preserve and promote the local trail systems. The event, which was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, was last held in 2019 with former LCF Mayor Leonard Pieroni.
