The third annual Korean Harvest Day Festival featured dancing, popular music, food, games and participants in cultural costumes. Opening ceremonies began with attendees honoring the flag, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and enthusiastically singing America’s national anthem, which ended with a round of applause. A heartfelt moment occurred when students took the stage and Ambassador Key Cheol Lee, the Republic of Korea’s consul general, went into the audience and assisted Korean War veterans Richard Bame and Bob Keite to the stage to be honored. Lee presented them with Korean War Hero jackets and gave them a patriotic salute. The festivities lasted well into the evening.
