La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with past and present members at Memorial Park. It was a festive all-day event with food, bounce houses, giveaways, a petting zoo, live music by PCH and face painting. Families from all four decades of Parent Ed gathered to reminisce and enjoy.
The day began with worship in the park at 10 a.m. led by the Rev. Jeff Hoffmeyer and the La Cañada Presbyterian music department with special remarks by Parent Ed Director Anne Bierling, who highlighted their 40th anniversary theme song “No Matter What” and theme verse from Nehemiah 8:10.
Bierling also thanked longtime legacy contributors who were in attendance: founders Annie Latta Krach and Claudia Zentmyer, tenured teachers Jan Roberts and Nanette Brown, former directors Lois Harrison and Ginny Kelley, former administrative assistant Sandy Ravana, and Parent Ed 2019 “Shining Stars” Joanna Hurst and Lynne Graves as well as 2018 Shining Star Kathy Kovalcik.
The event was chaired by Katie Enney and Debbie Barsom with help from the rest of the staff.
