The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild recently hosted its annual Book and Author Luncheon at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Local authors Karin Esterhammer (“So Happiness to Meet You”), Chris Erskine (“Daditude) and Anne Wheaton (“Piggy and Pug”) were featured, and the keynote speaker was performer and motivational speaker Jennifer Kumiyama, a former patient at Orthopaedic Institute for Children.
This year’s luncheon was co-chaired by Joan Cleven and Marie Gilhooly, and the book and author co-chairs were Arlene Massimino and Wendy Nicoll. Funds raised will assist OIC in providing medical care for children who sustain orthopedic injuries or who are born with orthopedic conditions. No child is turned away from OIC because he or she is underinsured or has no insurance.
