Memorial Day With Captain Cardiac

For the 15th year, Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries had everyone rocking and rolling at Memorial Park, bring a close to the Fiesta Days on Memorial Day. After the flag was raised and patrons showed their patriotism, Mayor Michael Davitt paid tribute to attendee Sam Reiner, 93 years old, a World War II veteran who received the Purple Heart twice. The crowd stood and gave him an honorable round of applause and cheers. The band was introduced and its members wasted no time, starting off with “Tequila” and coming out into the audience to play it. They followed it with other old-time favorites, including “My Girl,” “Soul Man,” “Sloopy,” Twist and Shout,” “Wooly Bully” and closed with “Born to Be Wild.”
