La Cañada Flintridge residents gathered Monday morning for the annual Memorial Service at Memorial Park, where young people and veterans led a solemn ceremony honoring those American military members who were lost in combat. At this year’s ceremony, LCF native John Doherty, a Vietnam War veteran whose uncles — John and Joseph Doherty — were killed in World War II, spoke about his former St. Francis High School classmate John Flagg, who suffered the effects of Agent Orange exposure after returning from Vietnam.
