City Is Working to Improve FIS Lower Field

La Cañada Flintridge’s FIS lower field is undergoing a leveling project to enhance residents’ recreational experience.
To minimize downtime during high-demand months, the city has divided the project into two phases.
Phase 1, which is currently underway and set to be completed on June 6, will level the field to improve playability and safety. Once complete, expect temporary stress on the field as it’s scalped down to dirt, but it will bounce back after aeration and fertilization.
Phase 2 is scheduled for December 2024, and it seeks to enhance the health, durability and overall image of the field through overseeding, aerating, fertilizing and topping.
